Sheri's (SKY) Cherry Bounce
A Great Lakes tradition
Sheri’s Cherry Bounce is based on a local favorite in the Midwest of the United States, home of our global headquarters. Traditionally prepared in July with fresh local tart cherries, it must sit four to six months for the cherries to ferment. It’s a perfect drink to savor among family and friends during the year-end holidays.
Ingredients
metric standard1.8 l of fresh tart cherries (such as Montmorency or Door County Montmorency)
250 ml sugar
750 ml your favorite spirit (such as bourbon or tequila)
Preparation
Rinse the cherries thoroughly, remove stems. Slice an “x” into each cherry where the stem was, but do not remove the pit. Add all ingredients into a 4 l size mason jar and seal. Do not mix ingredients with a spoon. Give the jar a healthy swirl to mix the cherries and sugar. Store in a cool, dry place at least four months. Enjoy as a cordial after dinner and spoon the cherries over ice cream or your favorite dessert.
