Get ready to turn up the heat. This tart and bubbly classic combines the grassy notes of tequila with refreshing grapefruit and lime juice. The addition of muddled jalapeño adds a fiery kick, perfectly balanced by agave syrup. The grapefruit soda topper ties everything together with a delightful fizz and extra burst of citrus.
Ingredients
metric standard60 ml tequila
15 ml fresh lime juice
25 ml grapefruit juice
15 ml agave syrup
Muddled jalapeño
Grapefruit soda on top
Chili spice mix (optional)
2 jalapeño slices (optional, garnish)
Grapefruit slice (garnish)
Preparation
Combine all ingredients except grapefruit soda in a shaker and gently muddle. Add 1 scoop of ice and shake vigorously. Use a cocktail and mesh strainer to double strain into a glass. Fill glass with ice. Top with grapefruit soda. Optional: Add chili spice mix to the rim of the glass and garnish with 2 jalapeño slices. Garnish with a grapefruit slice.
