Sweet mix with a spicy kick
Influenced by the classic Paloma, this cocktail mixes spicy flavors with tart citrus. White rum provides a light sweetness, while grapefruit liqueur complements the spice beautifully.
Ingredients
metric standard45 ml white rum
15 ml grapefruit liqueur
25 ml ginger syrup
25 ml fresh lemon juice
2 jalapeño slices (1 to muddle, 1 for garnish)
Grapefruit slice (garnish)
Preparation
Combine white rum, grapefruit liqueur, ginger syrup, and fresh lemon juice in a shaker. Add jalapeño slice and gently muddle. Add one scoop of ice and shake vigorously. Use both a cocktail and a mesh strainer to double strain into a glass. Garnish with a jalapeño slice and grapefruit slice.
