A holiday classic reimagined
Raise a glass to Peruvian holiday cheer. The traditional Algarrobina offers a creamy, sweet, and rich taste, reminiscent of eggnog. This version adds sweet vermouth, adding a smooth, candy-like quality, creating a festive and flavorful indulgence.
Ingredients
metric standard30 ml Peruvian pisco
15 ml walnut liqueur
15 ml sweet vermouth
15 ml heavy cream
15 ml algarrobina syrup (or substitute with demerara syrup)
1 whole egg
Grated nutmeg (on top)
Preparation
Combine all ingredients in a shaker and “dry shake” to activate foam. Add ice and shake vigorously until the ice dissolves. Use both a cocktail and a mesh strainer to double strain into glass. Grate nutmeg over the top.
